1. Development and application of intelligent controllable electric water pump
Traditional centrifugal engine cooling water pumps often operate under non design conditions, resulting in low efficiency. A new sliding vane rotary pump (SVRP) with low sensitivity to efficiency is suitable for engine applications under variable speed conditions, greatly improving water pump efficiency. In the developed electric cooling system, in addition to replacing traditional mechanical cooling water pumps with electric cooling water pumps, electronic intelligent thermostats are also used to replace traditional thermostats, and optimization control strategies corresponding to these electric components are developed. Under the same configuration and cooling requirements, the energy consumption of an electric water pump is only 16% of that of a mechanical water pump. Even considering that the conversion efficiency of electrical energy is only half of that of mechanical energy, the energy consumption of the entire cooling system can still be reduced by about 2/3, and the advantage is very obvious.
Replacing traditional mechanical water pumps with electronically controlled cooling water pumps, comparative analysis through experiments and simulations has shown that by controlling the pump speed and improving the efficiency of the electronically controlled water pump, power consumption can be reduced by over 87%. If the pump speed is increased to its maximum value, the radiator size can be reduced by over 27%, which has great potential for improving engine performance and fuel economy. The electric water pump separates the water pump from the engine cylinder block and is not affected by the current engine speed. It is controlled only based on the actual cooling requirements of the engine, achieving automatic speed adjustment. Electric water pumps reduce heat transfer and mechanical losses, as well as fuel consumption, and have been increasingly widely used.
2. Standardization, modularization, and serialization of water pump components
Due to limited workspace and complex structure, it is very difficult to disassemble and repair the engine cooling water pump. On the premise of meeting functional requirements, the components strive for simple structure and easy processing and manufacturing. The standardization, modularization, and serialization of engine cooling water pump components will greatly shorten the design cycle, reduce production costs, and improve the universality of components.
Modular production of engine cooling water pump components has been established abroad, and some domestic enterprises also have mass production capabilities. However, various components have not yet formed a unified product series, and some high-end car engine cooling water pump components still need to be imported from abroad for replacement. In combination with the "Made in China 2025" proposal to integrate the Internet platform and information communication technology into the whole life cycle of the manufacturing industry, so as to improve the innovation ability and production efficiency of the engine manufacturing industry, and form the "Internet plus auto pump standard parts" is a future development model.
